Syrian Contemporary Art Show
ArtScoops is thrilled to announce a new online exhibition for August showcasing a richly diverse range of works by leading contemporary Syrian artists.
Running from Tuesday August 3 to Tuesday August 31, the show will feature an extensive selection of works encompassing a variety of media and styles, from figurative sculptures to calligraphy on handmade paper and historic scenes, alongside sensual portraits and activist pieces in oil and acrylic on canvas.
Inevitably, the themes embraced in the works include the artists’ sentiments on the conflict in Syria and experiences of living in or leaving the war-torn country. Symbolism and emotive commentary on the socio-political realities are to the fore, although Syria’s rich heritage is also explored with affection and fondness, and poignant glimpses of everyday life shared.
The featured artists are: Anas Homsi; Abdullah Murad; Yamen Yousef; Mohammad Imad Mahouk; Youssef Abdelke; Fadi Yazigi; Tarek Butayhi; Boutros Al Maari; Nizar Sabour; Ghylan Safadi; Carolin Semerjian; Azza Abo Rebieh; Elias Ayoub; Ala’ Hamameh; and Ismail Helou.
Don’t miss this opportunity to own a piece of art created against a backdrop of conflicting emotions, ranging from passion and rage to despair and hope.
