Edition 2/5 + 1AP Ibi Ibrahim's first color photographs attempt was in 2012 when he introduced his first photographs from the Sitara series. A traditional colorful fabric once worn by women in Yemen before the importation of the black Abbaya. "The Sitara evokes the image of the free Yemeni woman of the past – the ‘forgotten queen’ – contrasting the current status of women as sinful objects that must be covered in black." - Ibi Ibrahim
