About this artwork
I work the operations of Galerie Tanit in Mar Mikhael, Beirut. Which is 650 meters away from the site of the Beirut explosion of August 4th, 2020. I was heavily injured but I luckily survived and swiftly recovered. I represent my realization of the simultaneous fragility and strength of the human body with construction elements like concrete and metal that decay and fall apart, despite their brute and withstanding nature. These elements shape a cavity in which the first-aid kit takes shelter to signify the memento that a first-aid kit is a necessity despite the illusion of safety we build ourselves.
