Artscoops is delighted to announce a new show by the award-winning Lebanese-American visual artist Magda Chaaban, which runs from the 28th of July till the 23rd of August, 2022.

A multi-talented and versatile creative, Chaaban returned to painting, which she describes as her “original passion”, after a career that has seen her also successfully embrace jewelry design and writing.

She is a member of the Association of Lebanese Artists for Painting and Sculpture (LAAPS) and has had two books published, with a third in the pipeline.   

Chaaban’s figurative paintings are brimming with detail and nostalgic touches, providing her audience with fascinating and insightful glimpses of Beirut life, from its architecture and landmarks to the intriguing traits of the colorful characters that inhabit or work in the city.

Delightful details are in plentiful supply, whether the much-loved Chiclets chewing gum or designer footwear, fez, and fashion accessories, often adding characteristic splashes of red.
