Shurooq Amin Online Exhibition
ArtScoops is delighted to announce the launch of a new online show, from February 21 to March 12, featuring a selection of works by the renowned mixed-media, interdisciplinary artist of Kuwaiti and Syrian heritage, Shurooq Amin.
The show includes a diverse range of paintings and works on paper that showcase Amin’s signature figurative pieces, which are recognised today as having added a new, thought-provoking dimension to the depiction of modern-day, often hidden Khaleeji society through portraiture.
While Amin’s protagonists are largely anonymous, they are simultaneously instantly identifiable on a broader, more general level, from the young blonde woman sitting cross-legged on her bed savouring her gifts in ‘Sugar Daddy’ to a young man, dressed all in white, complete with an incongruous combination of on-trend trainers and skullcap, seemingly holding a bottle of alcohol, in ‘Ghosts of Eid Past’.
Don’t miss this opportunity to buy a piece of art by this important and highly influential artist.
