Artscoops Celebrates the Art of Calligraphy in New Show

Artscoops is delighted to announce a new online show of 15 calligraphy works by eight talented artists working in this specialist field today. Titled ‘As it’s Written’, and curated by the Lebanese Arabic calligraphy artist Ghaleb Hawila, the show runs from May 18 to May 31. Hawila’s work also features in the exhibition, alongside that of Abdul Rahman Al Shahed; Tagalsir Hassan; Abdessamad Bouysramne; Ibrahim Khatab; Sabah Arbili; Fadi Ouayid; and Akil Ahmad. With its hallmark features that include elegant, curved lettering, decorative and geometric forms, and the creative use of symmetry in design, calligraphy and calligraphic-inspired art enjoy widespread popularity today.
