    Omar's family wanted  him to work as a mechanic, but he had his heart set on art. He studied in Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad under the late Shakir Hassan Al-Said, an Iraqi painter, sculptor and writer, who is considered one of Iraq's most innovative and influential artists.
