MORE FROM THIS ARTIST

About this artwork

Ralph works with digital images, modulating them at different scales and creating fragments. He then rearranges the order of these fragments in patterns that manifest aesthetically on the micro and macro scales. Ultimately, this exercise establishes a strong, visual relationship of parts to the whole; which results in the finished piece. The parts are collectively dependent on the whole, and yet the whole is more than the sum of the parts. The purpose of this exercise, in the artist’s own words, is an 'attempt to replicate the emergence of consciousness, as an inherent property of the universe.'
