About this artwork

The work’s title, also referencing Matera, contains the acronym GMT denoting its time zone. A clear divi- sion emerges between the earthly scenery and the celestial domain, distinguished by an empty space wherein a meticulously drawn circle, possibly sym- bolizing a planet or cosmological entity, is situated. The landscape is divided into two distinct sections: one densely populated, while the other depicts a solitary male figure moving through emptiness. This organization exemplifies an order within abstraction, a hallmark of Assadour’s style.
