Jean-Michel Vinay

As Volkswagen announces the end of production of its iconic Beetle last week, after seven decades since its first design, Artscoops is proud to bring this work to the fore. 

Jean-Michel Vinay’s talent as a writer and photographer was recognised early on while he was still a student. Following his studies in Fine Arts and Art History in Aix-en-Provence, he completed his Masters in Aesthetics of the Image, “photographie en couleur(s)” in 1979. Vinay was fascinated with a poetic sensibility by the legendary ageless car Coccinelle or Beetle which presented round curves and embodied a familiar stature globally popular.
