Mahmoud Shubbar

Born in Babylon – Iraq in 1965. Shubbar holds a PH.D. In Art/Drawing. He is a member of the Iraqi Artists Association and member of the Society of Fine Iraqis.

Mahmoud Shubbar is an Iraqi abstract artist whose works are released from academic restrictions. Freedom and spontaneity have become the engine of his pen. He was awarded the 1st prize twice at the International festival of arts in Egypt in 2000 and 2001. His works are currently part of collections in Romania, Russia, Italy, and the United States.
