Faiza Shaikh
Drawn to art from a very young age, Dubai-based contemporary artist Faiza Shaikh studied at Fielden Park Art School, Manchester in the UK, then at South Trafford College in textile design, completing her training at St. Martins College in London.
Aware of the world’s economic disparities, racial discriminations and environmental issues, her paintings however present a quest for perfection. Her new series add a further dimension to her signature works of philosophical script by including Pop Art, a fusion of East and West comic characters entangled with Truck Art, all within strong bold colours and sharp contrasts.
Her works are part of the collection of the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad and the Ministry of Information and Media in Karachi, as well other public and private collections, including in New York, London and Dubai.
