Carolin Semerjian is a young Syrian painter on the rise with an abstract body of works in which the colours crisscross through short, dynamic brushstrokes and flowing lines are interspersed on the pastel shade patches. Having earned a Bachelor’s degree from the Damascus University, Faculty of Fine Arts in 2015, the artist undertook several internships in Lebanon, working alongside distinguished artists such as the late Wajih Nahle and Emmanuel Guiragossian. Semerjian also dedicated her time to volunteer as an art teacher for children of martyrs. She served as an art gallery director at the National Center for Visual Arts in Damascus and has been exhibited multiple times in Damascus.
