Pupa
Follow ArtistBorn in 1982 in Lebanon. Since her childhood Pupa developed an affinity towards the dreamlike depictions of the human experience, world mythologies were her bedtime stories. In 2004, she started studying psychology and found herself fascinated by the capacity of the human mind to transfigure reality through dreams.
During this same period she discovered the works of the surrealists and the photomontage technique. Pupa uses different mediums to construct her dreamlike imagery: magazine and book clippings, paint and natural elements…For her the fragmentary nature of collage is similar to the fragmentary nature of human identity and her work consists of converging these disparate fragments into a harmonious unity.
