Fady Mattar

Fady Mattar was born in Watta Houb, north Lebanon, in 1961.

He graduated from the Fine Arts Institute, Lebanese University (LU), first with a Diplôme d’ Études Superieur in drawing and painting, and then with an MFA.

In the period between 1985 and 1990, he exhibited his works in numerous group exhibitions of works by young painters in Beirut.

Mattar has been a member of the Lebanese Association of Painters and Sculptors since 1992 and a professor of painting and drawing at LAU, NDU, LU, and USEK.

He has held many individual exhibitions throughout his professional life, including a show at The Wall at Station Des Arts in Beirut, titled ‘Interior Pilgrimage’.

He has also held individual exhibitions at Janine Rubeiz Gallery, the Art Circle Gallery, Balamand University, and LAU.
