Assia Hobeika Massabki
Follow ArtistLebanese painter and sculptor resides and works in Beirut, she obtained a Diploma in Interior Design achieved with distinction in 1979 and she had a higher Education in painting and drawing in 1990 both from the same National Institute of Fine Arts (Lebanese University).
Assia first began taking part in the exhibitions and other events before her studies since 1970 and has continued to do so since than remaining fully committed to her art over decades, her Artworks has featured in several high –profile exhibitions including the Salon d’Automne, Grand palais Paris for which she has been an associate member since 1992, in addition Assia won the Jury Price at the Mahaba Biennale in 1995 Syria, her work has been sold the last time at Chiswick Auction in mars 2022 London U.K.
Assia had held more than ten Solo exhibitions in Lebanon the last one in 2019 at Aida Cherfan Fine Art, Massabki’s work has featured in several collective art exhibition in Lebanon and abroad: Club des Ateliers d’Artists Paris (2017), Zervas Art Fair Paris (2016), Salle Wagram Paris (2015), and events in Iran (2005), Abu Dhabi tow time (1995/1993), Bahrain (1994), Dubai (1995).
Her Artwork can found several high –profile public collections including Sursock Museum, Byblos Museum, Lebanese Ministry of Culture, Syrian Ministry of Culture, and Movenpick Hotel collection. Massabki’s Artwork belong to several public collections she has described her work as often melding figurative and abstract, in her elements wholesome symbolic shapes and motifs are recognizable in her paintings provide the viewer with a soothing fluid meditative environment, these lyrical and mysterious hallmark compositions invite audiences to not only observe but immerse themselves in their combinations and collisions of intricate linear patterns colorful forms and subtle textured surfaces, Assia is quoted as having said ”painting has always been a part of my life and now is more important than ever”.
