Ismail El Helou
B.1955
The simplified imagery and naïve traits of his subjects recall the expressionist school to which Ismail El Helou belongs and his architecture background. He is considered a follower of the Kayyali and Seba’i schools. The present work is a prime example of his Mediterranean colour palette. El Helou studied Plastic Arts in Homs, before graduating from the University of Aleppo in Urban Architecture.
