Jana Aridi
Follow ArtistJana Aridi is a Lebanese architect and designer. She receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the American University of Beirut in 2013, and in 2017, she completed her Masters in Product Design at Domus Academy in Milan. She returned to Beirut where she founded her studio and started exploring the craft of hand- carved wooden objects. In June 2018, she was commissioned by architect Karim Nader to design a set of limited edition hand-carved wooden items that were showcased in “Nocturne Majlis” at the “Art of Dining” event by Architectural Digest Middle East in Beirut.
In December 2018, Jana participated in her first exhibition as a product designer with the 4th edition of House of Today Exhibition Biennale curated by Cherine Magrabi Tayeb in collaboration with R & Company. The fruition of which was “Ingrid”, a handcrafted low coffee table that coupled the traditional rattan weaving technique with contemporary methods of production.
