Follow Artist"War inside the human being shows its repercussions internally. Sometimes in the heart of happiness there is sadness and vice versa," explains Juhayda Al Bittar, who sees her paintings as a "state of escape" allowing her to work through her emotions on canvas.
Born in Damascus, Juhayda Al Bittar (1991) completed her BA and Master’s degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University. Working in abstraction, she uses thick energetic brushwork with contrasting bright colours and black lines. Each canvas is brimming with frenetic movement, depicting various hyper emotions. She feels that this lyricism conveys her philosophy of achieving self-transcendence through tapping into one’s subconscious and listening to our senses.
Juhayda Al Bittar has had solo and group exhibitions at venues such as: Art House Art Gallery, Damascus; George Kamel Gallery, Damascus; Qode gallery, Amman; Opera House for Women, Damascus; Rainbow Art Gallery, Beirut; Gallery Ward, Dubai; Fann A porter, Dubai; Fabriano Exhibition, Venice and Palais des Congrès, National Historical Museum, Tirana, Albania.
