Falling

"FALLING" is a virtual solo exhibition by the emerging artist Johnny Semaan.

"Falling is an attempt to escape anxiety. An attempt to act as if a person could have the power to banish anxiety."

It is a visual project that expresses the state of instability, through various complex yet colorful compositions. Johnny's goal is to share the concerns of a fluctuating life in the Arab region. In general, his artistic direction tends towards expressive artworks. He draws characters constantly because he likes to follow the moving bodies in the city, through which he expresses topics related to human nature and social life. Although he works consciously using profound thoughts in a variety of techniques, but it is always the subconscious that manages his projects.

Johnny Semaan is a Beirut-based Syrian artist born in Lattakia. He graduated from Damascus University with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts in 2007. He was then an instructor at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tishreen University. He obtained his Masters degree in Plastic Arts from the Lebanese University in Beirut in 2019. Johnny is also the recipient of the 2019 Boghossian Foundation Prize in Lebanon for painting. He has participated in several solo and group exhibitions both locally and internationally.

The exhibition is ongoing from November 5 till December 5, 2021.
