About David Daoud
Born in 1970, French-Lebanese artist David Daoud left war-torn Lebanon for France in 1978 when he was eight years old. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the Ecole Supérieure Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Impacted partly by his exile, his works, spanning landscapes to portraits, are painted in an expressionist style carrying emotions such as love, nostalgia and the ephemeral, representing dreamy, mysterious scenes with a painterly brushstroke. Among many awards, he is the 2011 recipient of the Frédéric de Carfort international prize from the Fondation de France and in 2013 of the Prix Lefranc Bourgeois in painting at the Palais des Congrès, Montreuil.
