Iranian artist Azadeh Razaghdoost was born in 1979 in Tehran. She received a Bachelor’s degree from the Tehran University of Art in 2002. Love, passion and blood are the key elements of inspiration and portrayal for Razaghdoost. Her chaotic brushwork is distinguished by the colour red, which she feels is an indirect reflection of her childhood dream to become a medic. In her work, Razaghdoost is very much stimulated by her love for literature and poetry. For instance, her series of paintings entitled ‘Sick Rose’ is inspired by Charles Beaudelaire’s “Les Fleurs du Mal”. She currently lives and works in Iran.
