Iraqi artist Shaiban Ahmad graduated from the Baghdad Institute of Fine Arts with a Diploma in Fine Arts in Painting. In 1987, he was the recipient of the UNESCO Award, and in 1995 the Appreciation Award by the Center of Art in Baghdad. He completed a public fountain that was commissioned by the Municipality of Baghdad. Ahmad’s recent works on expressionism and cubist realism are an alteration from his previous impressionist works. With a knack for telling complex and vivacious stories in his images, he draws lines in a meticulous way in order to tell his stories of a lost paradise.
